Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 5 to assure compliance with environmental regulations and to improve the safety, quality, and capacity of the State’s transportation system through preparation, review, and approval of hydraulic design reports. The Transportation Engineer 5 has approval authority for hydraulic design reports developed by staff in project engineering offices (PEO) for Olympic Region (OR) projects and has responsibility for developing and recommending statewide hydraulic policy through participation in WSDOT’s statewide hydraulic working group. They will supervise the OR Hydraulics Unit and serve as a senior level professional engineer in the field of hydraulics, hydrology, stormwater runoff management, and river engineering for OR. These responsibilities involve an advanced level of engineering knowledge and skills and independent engineering decision making.
