Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Planning Specialist 4 to serve as Hazardous Materials Compliance Specialist Lead in Olympia, WA. The top candidate will be the project leader for the Hazardous Waste Compliance Program, providing expertise, programmatic support, policy recommendations, and evaluations to Maintenance Operations programs throughout the state, including Facilities, TEF, Signals, Radio, Road Maintenance, Bridge Maintenance, & Tunnel Maintenance to foster environmental stewardship and achieve environmental compliance & solid waste permitting objectives. As a senior-level specialist, this position works independently or on interdisciplinary teams formed to interpret, evaluate, plan, and implement a variety of complex projects and on-going programs involving hazardous materials and solid waste.
