Qualifications and responsibilities for this Traffic Engineer opportunity include:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar field with 3 years of engineering experience, OR closely related experience to include one year of supervisory experience
- Strong Traffic Engineering experience and familiarity with FDOT, state, and federal standards
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Florida or ability to obtain FL licensure within 6 months of hire
- Possession of a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license is preferred
- Make decisions and act as the go-to person for any traffic related issues
- Review and approve requests for new traffic control devices, signals, and signing
- Manage the Intersection Priority List, determining which projects get funded
- Oversee traffic system operations, including signal timing and technology
- Respond to inquiries from commissioners, citizens, and developers
- Review new and modified access points on roadways
- Coordinate with Development Review staff to approve or deny deviations for access roads

Salary: $75,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
