We are currently seeking a “Piping Drafter” to join our dynamic team. As an integral member of the team, you will have the opportunity to deliver piping drafting work along with more senior engineers. You will also have the opportunity to interact with other technical staff in the development and review of various engineering drawings. Your pride in supporting engineers in producing high quality and practical designs from concept through to commissioning will be a vital part of this diverse and interesting position.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist other engineers in executing engineering tasks and work in accordance with established engineering practices and drafting protocols
  • Produce a variety of project drawings including piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), System Schematics, Plot Plans, Piping Orthographics and Isometrics as per engineers’ markups or senior designers’ directions
  • Interprets and carries out creative ideas proposed by other engineers or designers
  • Operated computer-assisted design (CAD) software and drafting workstations
  • Updating and or creating tie-in list per engineers’ or senior designers’ direction
  • Collaborate with other designers or engineers on field assignments

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Post-secondary education with a technical diploma in Drafting/CADD 
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in the industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Open-minded with the ability to follow instructions 
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks and use judgment to solve problems based on guidelines and procedures
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid understanding of engineering codes and standards
  • Familiarity with computer aided design and drafting (CADD) equipment
  • Proficient with MS Office, and AutoCad 
  • Interest in the oil and gas industry is preferred
