Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 4 with strong communication and problem-solving skills to fill an Access & Hearings Specialist vacancy located in Olympia, WA. In this role, you will serve as the Access Control expert statewide and administer limited access hearings and hearing wavier programs. This position serves as WSDOT’s technical expert in managing complex Limited and Managed Access Control and assures compliance with state and federal laws that govern access control. The Access & Hearings Specialist will demonstrate expert level of understanding and interpretation of federal and state Stewardship Agreements and preserving public investment in the highway system by ensuring all regions, local agencies and Tribes follow department standards, policies, and laws. This position provides Access Control Program direction for all state agencies including Real Estate Services, Developer Services, Right of Way Plans, Local Agencies, Sound Transit, FHWA, consultant groups, and private properties that abut State Route Highways and Freeways as needed or requested by the regions. The Access & Hearing Specialist develops and monitors the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and state-wide Limited and Managed Access Control and Median Crossover Master plan databases, GIS Access Control Work Bench and the Roadway Access Management Permits Systems (RAMPS) databases.
