Job Description:

Airswift has been tasked by one of its major clients to look for a Process Engineer to work on year to year W2 contract in Pasadena, TX.

This role requires contractor to have the availability to work weekends, and holidays and respond to callouts as needed. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide Process Engineering Support to Projects and Special Studies 
  • Lead Front-End Loading Activities
  • Evaluation and selection of technology
  • Preliminary design through detailed scope development
  • Developing heat and material balances
  • Preparing PFD's, P&ID's, equipment and instrument datasheets as well as system package specification.
  • Direct and Supervise work and performance of contracted engineering firms' process engineering discipline to ensure accuracy.
  • Participating in PHA's.
  • Developing operating procedures.
  • Providing training to engineers and operator technicians.
  • Provide construction support and participate in PSSR's, commissioning and start-up.
  • Provide expertise in technology and chemical processing knowledge.
  • Provide support to manufacturing sites assisting with troubleshooting process issues based on experience and expertise.
  • Assure corporate policies, procedures, and standards are followed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 12 years functional experience, plant (production) engineering preferred, in the chemical industry.
  • Experience in chlor-alkali, brine treatment, caustic processes, and/or vinyl technology preferred.
  • Proficiency in process engineering principles and methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access).
  • Familiarity with SAP or equivalent computerized inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to effectively transfer technical expertise to less experienced professionals.

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Chlor-Alkali technologies.
  • Experience in PVC technologies.
  • Experience in VCM and/or EDC manufacturing technologies.
  • Familiarity with process engineering software packages such as Aspen is a plus.
Travel is estimated at 25% on a yearly basis with the majority of travel being one to four-day trips to plant sites and engineering offices.
