Electrical Engineer, Substation

Inceed has partnered with a large engineering consulting company on an Electrical Engineer, focusing in substations.

As an Electrical Engineer - Substation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical substation infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and optimization of substation systems, including layout, equipment selection, grounding, protection, and control schemes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive substation designs that meet client specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation for substation projects, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Perform electrical system studies, such as load flow, short circuit, and relay coordination, to validate design integrity and enhance system performance.
• Conduct field visits to existing substations for inspections, assessments, and troubleshooting, identifying opportunities for upgrades and improvements.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address project requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with project timelines.
• Lead project management efforts, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to substation design and electrical engineering.
• Participate in professional development activities to maintain and enhance your expertise in substation engineering.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) OR Engineer in Training (EIT) certified. 
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in substation design, operation, and project management.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
