Creation Technologies Rochester is looking for a strong, innovative, entrepreneurial Senior Test Engineering Manager to join our team based in Newark (Greater Rochester Area), NY. The Senior Test Engineering Manager is responsible for all Test Engineering activity in an Electronics Manufacturing environment. The Manager works closely with Creation's Customer Focused Teams and supervises the evaluation, commissioning, validation, sustaining and support of both commercial and custom test systems.
As Senior Test Engineering Manager, you will use your strong grounding in engineering principles and manufacturing philosophy, to direct your team to optimize the test process, methods, improvements, equipment, and tools necessary to result in high production yields. You will use your understanding of business concepts, and your skills in coaching, negotiating, team building and decision-making to improve efficiency, reduce cost and improve quality. This position directly reports to the Site Engineering Leader.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
Manage, coach and & develop the Test Engineering team including:
Plan and manage Test Engineering budgets, resources, and expenditures
Initiate test development projects, and drive them to completion
Set, communicate, and motivate the team regarding goals and targets
Drive for optimized test procedures, processes, and best practices
Contribute to both Site and Company plans relating to test and technology
Recommend and support Test Engineering strategic initiatives
Support test related activity for new customer opportunities
Report on team and project status to Site and Company executive levels
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing test environment
Minimum 3 years in a team lead/leadership role.
Sound fundamental knowledge of digital and analog circuitry.
In depth knowledge of testing RF electronics systems.
Solid understanding of DFT principles and test strategy development to maximize test coverage.

Proficient in presenting to and meeting customers in person
Working understanding of quality aspects relating to electronics manufacturing and product testing (e.g., FPTY statistics, root cause analysis, FMEA, etc.)
BENEFICIAL SKILLS:
Experience in electronics manufacturing, specifically including test development, hardware and/or software
Thorough knowledge of test and measurement technology & practice, including test fixturing and test equipment
Strong grounding in Design for Test (DFT) philosophy
Experience using Aster TestWay
Design experience using In-circuit Test, Boundary Scan or Flying Probe
Functional Test System hardware and software design experience
Understanding of PCB design and layout using CAD software
Knowledge of Oracle and Windchill PLM
Aptitude for mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts
Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
Good understanding of Lean concepts
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Physical Demands
As expected within a typical office type environment however may on occasion spend an extended amount of time standing or walking in a production environment
The incumbent must possess enough strength to safely maneuver around archived materials up to 25lbs without injury to themselves or others
Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
