The Senior Electromechanical Test Technician is a highly skilled professional with a unique combination of hands-on experience in prototyping and testing electric motors and generators, and the ability and aptitude to support a variety of electromechanical prototyping and testing tasks. This role requires an individual with a proven track record of successfully contributing to the development and testing of electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical aptitude, proficiency in testing methodologies, and a passion for innovation within the field of electric motors and generators.

 

Minimum Qualifications

- High school graduation or its equivalent plus a minimum of eight years of related technical experience, is required. Formal technical training beyond high school can be substituted for two years of related experience.
- Minimum of 6 years experience in the prototyping and testing of electric motors and generators.
- Proficiency in using various testing equipment and instrumentation.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Capacity to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet testing deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of safety protocols and a dedication to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and procedures.
- Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. Federal government, candidates for the position must be a U.S. Citizen

 

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- An Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field.
- Additional certifications or coursework related to electromechanical systems.
- Experience with advanced prototyping techniques and additive manufacturing.
- Experience in new product design and sustaining engineering environments
