Job Description:

Legend Brands is hiring for a Rotational Molding Process Engineer. This position is located in our beautiful Northwest Washington headquarters. We are seeking a technical leader for Rotational Molding operation they will define and implement the optimum combination of equipment, tooling, materials, and processing to safely produce repeatable high-quality and cost-effective results.

This position provides technical rotational molding process leadership and mentorship to various positions in our organization. Additionally, this position serves as the hands-on technical resource with shop floor support being a primary responsibility. You will resolve technical tooling and process problems associated with both new and existing tooling using DOE, statistical analysis, and six sigma problem solving techniques. We work in step with internal and external groups such as product development and manufacturing to incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles into all rotationally molded parts and assemblies.

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to start-up, operate, and shut down process related equipment.
  • Strong and diverse technical background in rotational molding processing, tooling, equipment, materials, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with rotational mold tool design including shrinkage factors, heat transfer, parting line strategies, venting, fill-ports, insert molding, draft angles, etc.
  • Establish and maintain internal specifications and process documentation for all rotational molding processes and tooling.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through team participation  and also in Zero Based Yield (ZBY).
  • Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD 3D modeling software. MasterCam or equivalent CAM experience a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple start-up projects.
  • Demonstrated superior communication (written and verbal), teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead others; responsibility may include indirect supervision of rotational molding support personnel.
  • Excellent computer skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to travel to other locations.
Education and/or Experience:
  • B.S. degree, or equivalent experience, in Plastics, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years practical work experience in a rotational molding operations.
  • Six Sigma experience a plus.
