Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Construction Engineering Manager in Seattle, WA. The SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program (SR 520) and Alaskan Way Viaduct Program (AWV) are highly visible, political, controversial, and complex multi-billion-dollar capital construction programs that report directly to the Assistant Secretary for Urban Mobility and Access at WSDOT. These are the largest mega programs in WSDOT, consisting of multiple major projects in various phases of development stretching from I-5 to I-405 on SR 520 and through the City of Seattle on Alaskan Way and waterfront connecting SR 99. Projects in development or under construction within the SR 520 Program include the Montlake Phase, SR 520/I-5 Express Lanes Connection, Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid, and the Montlake Cut Second Bascule Bridge projects. Projects in development or under construction within the AWV Program include the South Access Phase 2 project, the Office of the Waterfront Main Corridor and Marion Street Pedestrian Bridge project, and the SR99 Demolition, Decommissioning and Surface Street Project. This position reports to the SR 520 and AWV Director of Construction and is responsible for providing management oversight for the construction project teams managing the SR 520/I-5 Express Lane Connection Project, the SR 520 Montlake Phase Project, and the SR 520 Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project.
 
This position is responsible for overseeing the Project Offices tasked with managing WSDOT and consultant staff working as an integrated team to deliver the SR 520/I-5 Express Lanes Connection Project, the SR 520 Montlake Phase Project, the SR 520 Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project. The responsibilities for this position include providing overall project management and leadership to the Project Office Teams for the on-going construction operations, environmental inspection, management of traffic impacts, 3rd party coordination, communications with the public and outside agencies, design support, right of way and utility coordination. The position also provides direction to their staff and consultant teams on development and implementation of the policies and strategies to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
