Job Description:
Senior Consultant (New York, New York): Conceptualize and design sustainable acoustic architectural projects. Draft and prepare detailed architectural plans, drawings, visualizations, documents, computer models and physical models. Develop specialized software that can predict and simulate architectural acoustics and design architectural elements related to sound and vibration. Analyze noise and vibrations in existing buildings using architectural and acoustical analysis equipment. Support the production of architectural designs for audio and audiovisual systems. Provide architectural support and technical assistance throughout the procurement and delivery phases of acoustical architecture projects. Develop the required scope of services for projects. Work with clients to define architectural needs for performing arts building functions, including space planning, audience and performer circulation, seating layouts, stage design, room shaping and theatrical equipment specification. Assist in the analysis of costs of architectural design elements such as sound, vibration and theater systems, including finishes, wall and door constructions and stage technologies. Support the building construction phases by reviewing contractor documents and inspecting construction progress. Undertake 3D modelling, analytical research and calculations, design work, and measurement of noise and vibration. Prepare reports, drawings, sketches, and models to communicate acoustical design intent. Perform quality control. Handle inspections, measurements, commissioning, and testing of noise and vibration. Interpret and apply architectural codes and standards. Interpret and apply embodied carbon and human health data and certifications in acoustical and vibration isolation product selection. Identify research opportunities for acoustics and audiovisual scopes within interdisciplinary research related to sustainability. Guide sustainability and implementation of sustainable and circular design principles within design scope. Req’s Bachelor’s degr plus 6 yrs exp. Salary Range: $124,530 - $161,000/year.
