Career Transitions is currently working on behalf of an innovative automotive manufacturer to help them hire a Vehicle Electrical Engineering Manager. This role leads lead a team of 5 dedicated Electrical and Software engineering professionals and be responsible for the technical leadership of projects that support business objectives and ensures all product development aligns with the goals of the organization.
 
This role will encompass the whole vehicle, from body systems, harness development and software development, to integrated technologies such as infotainment and outside radar/body cameras. This team has access to
and utilize the latest technologies for the development of software requirements, architectures and all component specs and associated testing and documentation.
 
Electrical Engineering Manager Duties:
  • Generate plans and processes to implement solutions to engineering problems that address all program
    technical, cost and schedule.
  • Manage a technical team in executing the program plan to ensure all work is completed within cost and
    schedule, delegating work assignments, providing effective coaching and technical guidance as necessary.
  • Define and maintain requirements for complex electromechanical systems and decompose top level
    requirements into subsystem requirements. Responsible for all hardware and SW design integration and
    validation.
  • Lead and conduct trade studies to evaluate system architecture concepts against defined requirements. This
    includes system and subsystem level simulations (ex. HIL) and testing.
  • Liaison with suppliers and other manufacturers and manage vendor statement of work deliverables.
  • Work to develop, manage and enhance a robust DFMEA, DVP and other deliverable throughout the product
    development life cycle.
  • Work to teach, guide and mentor a group of engineering professional utilizing effective leadership techniques
Electrical Engineering Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Science.
    Master’s degree preferred. Requires at least 10 years of professional experience, both with EE and software development tools, within the automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated Experience leading projects and teams of professionals. Other attributes of a successful candidate include:
  • Knowledge of C programming language. Other languages a plus.
  • Experience with Matlab / Simulink software.
  • Strong leadership skills, with effective communicating abilities to lead and mentor other Engineers.
  • Strong written skills with demonstrated abilities in making presentations and white papers.
  • Easily can pivot, working with sometimes ambiguous requirements and changing priorities.
  • Experience with Agile Development Methods a plus.
