Job Description:

Summary:
Researches, plans, designs and develops electro/mechanical systems and products, including assemblies and sub-assemblies.  Modifies legacy products as needed and recommends product improvements.  Revises engineering drawings of major components and assemblies.  Occasional travel may be required.  Ability to obtain Security Clearance may be required. 
Responsibilities/Skills:
  • Uses knowledge of electronics, electrical design, mechanical design engineering, logic  to research, design, compute calculations and prepare original layouts and drawings using SolidWorks of electrical systems, products, and printed circuit boards.
  • Checks drawings using knowledge of engineering documentation practices.
  • Evaluates client needs, identifies, and analyzes client requirements design information, and/or technical data.
  • Ensures design specifications, design requirements, and performs necessary calculations to verify.
  • Determines data input/output requirements and equipment requirements.
  • Develops and maintains program/project Indentured Bill of Materials data.
  • Researches and recommends product's internal components, materials, parts, and manufacturing methods.
  • Studies, evaluates, and implements recommended system design changes and/or modifications.
  • Assembles first article systems for testing and/or demonstration purposes.
  • Maintains client confidence and maintains company operations by keeping proprietary information confidential.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering strongly preferred
  • 6+ years of electromechanical design required
  • Associates degree or certification and 8+ years electromechanical design experience may substitute Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with military aircraft and vehicles required
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14 Drawing Standards required
  • Expert level SolidWorks required
  • PDMWorks experience required
  • Ability to obtain security clearance may be required
