The Opportunity

As a Pavement Engineer with Fulton Hogan, you will be part of one of the top internationally recognized pavement engineering teams in Australasia. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing expert technical advice and pavement designs for a wide range of applications. From construction phase support to quality reviews for design-build contracts, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our projects.

The role will be responsible for all technical aspects related to Fulton Hogan's pavement construction work throughout the country which include pavement design, rehabilitation design, material engineering, construction input, risk identification and mitigation, research and development of products and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Pavement design for new projects and rehabilitation sites
  • Expert technical advice to delivery teams, consultants and clients
  • Deliver training and mentoring to operational delivery teams and graduate engineers.
  • Active involvement in industry technical committees, contributing to the advancement of pavement engineering practices.
  • Lead research projects to develop innovative pavement and surfacing materials, construction methodologies, and digital solutions.
  • Travel and explore New Zealand's diverse geology and climates as we operate in all regions of the country.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualification of a bachelor's degree (to be eligible to become a Registered Professional Engineer).
  • At least 5 years of pavement design and/or construction experience.
  • Have proven experience in conducting and delivering design requirements in accordance with agreed programme.
  • Familiarity with the undertaking of field inspections for future works to assess failure modes, and previous work to assess performance to date.
  • Experience in mechanistic pavement design software packages.
  • Ability to communicate technical information in a logical format so that the relevant details are understood.
  • Ability to understand and identify design, site, and construction risk.
