CNC Programmer/Engineering Technician:

Job Summary:
 
As a CNC Programmer/Engineering Technician you will be responsible for creating CNC programs for lathes, mills, and multitasking machines, as well as manufacturing communication of CNC programs and engineering data.  This position will also support product lines by developing and implementing the plans of the product realization process and introduction of products to the manufacturing floor.
 
Schedule/Pay:
  • Standard: 40 hours
  • Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm
Starting range based on qualifications:
  • $30.00 - $37.00 hourly ($62,400 - $76,960 annually)
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Designs and manages manufacturing fixturing, and tooling prints.
  • Collects, designs, and maintains work instructions, set-up sheets, and other build plan documents.
  • Implements manufacturing assembly procedures.
  • Communicates testing or inspection protocols from customer.
  • Acts as engineering liaison and advocate for production by reviewing products for manufacturability.
  • Determines and documents the process for products, along with proper machines and work centers.
  • Manufactures fixtures and prototypes for engineering.
  • Improves capacity and capabilities of manufacturing.
  • Ensures comprehensive documentation is available for reference and continuous improvement purposes.
  • Creates CNC programs for a variety of machines.
  • Collaborates with machinists and manufacturing engineer to review, develop, and optimize CNC programs based on engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Utilizes CAD/CAM software and programming languages to generate accurate and efficient machine code.
  • Maintains accurate records of CNC programs, tooling specifications, and set-up sheets.
  • Provides technical support to operators and troubleshoots programming or machining issues.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Two year technical degree in machining or equivalent work experience totaling five years or more.
  • Three or more years of experience working with either Mastercam or Esprit CAM software.
  • Previous work experience with CAD software.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Previous work experience utilizing Epicor software.
 
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities (KSA’s):
  • Knowledge of Solidworks and understanding of document management software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both verbal and written.
  • Skill in problem solving, computers, and blueprint reading.
  • Skill in managing one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
  • Ability to be technically proficient and accurate.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Skill and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
 
Working Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Exposure to sights, sounds, and smells associated with a machine shop production environment.
  • Hands on machining in R&D area.
