Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Planning Technician 3 to join the Travel Data, Modeling, and Analysis Branch within the Transportation Data, GIS, and Modeling Group. Under the direct supervision of the Digital Imagery Supervisor, this journey-level position plays a crucial role in supporting data-driven decision-making for the public road network at both state and federal levels. The primary focus of this position is to travel throughout Washington State, gathering digital imagery of the state highway system. In addition to data collection, the role involves conducting transportation planning assignments and studies, with a specific emphasis on video culvert inspections and sight distance surveys to meet defined objectives. The position also encompasses various other data collection activities that contribute to the Department's engineering and policy decisions.
