Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Rail, Freight, and Ports Division (RFPD) is recognized as a trusted partner and leader in the Rail, Freight, and Port domain.  We strive to be a catalyst for economic growth, for transporting passengers by rail, and for the efficient movement of goods by all freight modes. Primary areas of RFPD responsibility include funding, contracting, and capital improvement for the Amtrak Cascades, operations, capital delivery on the Palouse River & Coulee City freight rail system, administering grant and loan programs, freight and rail planning, port zero-emission project delivery and grants, truck parking, and coordination with all freight modes.

RFPD is currently seeking a Contracts and Agreements Specialist (Transportation Technical Engineer) in Olympia, WA. This position develops, negotiates, oversees, and administers all contracts, agreements, leases, and letters of understanding into which the division may enter. This position is also responsible for ensuring there are quality processes and procedures administered to ensure agreement compliance. In this role, you will serve as the lead for audits and responses. Agreements include but are not limited to engineering, construction, communications, marketing, planning, environmental, train service, equipment purchase, equipment maintenance, consultant services, leases, property disposals, and other non-standard contracts.
