Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 2 to serve as an Environmental Inspector for the SR 520 Corridor Office. Under general direction of a SR 520 Field Inspector (TE3), the top candidate will assist in the inspection of construction projects and assure compliance with contract plans, specifications, interagency agreements, and environmental permits for compliance with contract requirements. This work includes preparing calculations and notes to support and provide direction to the contractor, initiating payment for completed work, completing daily field reports, taking and filing project photos documenting construction work and issues, providing clarification of contract requirements to the contractor and subcontractors, and providing answers to their questions. This position exists to ensure the contractor implements Best Management Practices (BMPs) so that construction work meets or exceeds Contract requirements.
