Are you excited by innovation, product development and enjoy being the voice of your customers? If you are a professional engineer, have knowledge and experience with LSL and EWP, and are open to exploring a new opportunity we would love to connect.

Reporting to the Manager, Plywood, LSL & EWP Sales & Marketing you will help Tolko grow our market share and identify new products. You will work closely with internal and external decision makers and specifiers to open new and expand existing opportunities for Tolko branded product.

You will have the opportunity to conduct preliminary market research around building, marketplace, customer, and product trends and use this information to help clearly define Tolko’s sales, marketing and product development objectives.

You can expect to review blueprints, design specifications, and provide solutions for customers to convert their project from competing products to Tolko materials. You will also use your design skills to provide design and related solutions for floor, roof, wall and whole house design, including professional advice as required to customers.

 

In this role you will travel approximately 25 percent of your time.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering;
  • 10 years’ experience in related manufacturing, marketing and/or sales;
  • Knowledge of engineered wood products (EWP) and specialty forest products;
  • Track record of successful market development that translates to bottom-line results;
  • In-depth understanding of EWP and specialty product markets in North America and worldwide;
  • Able to read/understand blueprints and home layouts including supporting design software;
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to successfully manage timelines, and milestones with minimal supervision;
  • Strong influencing and consultation skills; ability to gather and analyze required business information to obtain buy in and/or approval from all levels of staff and management;
  • Ability to develop trust-based relationships and credibility with diverse stakeholder groups.
