Our client is a building consulting firm located in the Vaughn area and they are looking for a skilled Fire Protection Specialist to join their team. The Fire Protection Specialist must have previous building consulting experience and a strong understanding of AutoCAD software. As the new Fire Protection Specialist, you will be managing, reviewing, and approving a variety of projects throughout Ontario for the design and engineering of building systems for healthcare, commercial, institutional and residential retrofit projects.

Responsibilities for the Fire Protection Specialist:

• Assist with the preparation of fire protection drawings and schematics in accordance with NFPA standards.
• Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
• Work with project team to ensure on-time project completion.
• Perform system hydraulic calculations.
• Calculate material and equipment requirements and setting up shop drawings using AutoCAD.
• Review architectural and structural drawings.

Qualifications and Requirements for the Fire Protection Specialist:

• Post-secondary Diploma or Certificate in Fire Protection or a related field.
• 3+ years of work experience in fire protection design.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software programs as required.
• Experience with ESFR & High Storage Application is an asset.
