Environmental Engineer Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Environmental Engineer to join our client's team. As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the planning, design, and implementation of environmental projects. You will work on a variety of projects, including environmental impact assessments, remediation projects, waste management systems, and pollution control initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental engineering principles, regulatory compliance, and project management, with at least 7 years of experience in the field.

Environmental Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental assessments, including site investigations, data collection, and analysis
  • Prepare and review environmental impact assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental reports
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans, including pollution prevention and waste management strategies
  • Design and oversee the installation of environmental control systems, such as wastewater treatment plants and air pollution control systems
  • Provide technical expertise in regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to local, provincial/state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for environmental challenges
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies for environmental risk mitigation
  • Perform modeling and simulations to assess environmental impacts and evaluate the effectiveness of proposed solutions
  • Monitor and analyze environmental data, including air and water quality, soil contamination, and noise levels
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, and project proposals
  • Manage and oversee environmental remediation projects, including coordination with contractors and stakeholders
  • Conduct environmental audits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to address environmental concerns and facilitate project approvals
  • Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in environmental engineering
  • Prepare project budgets, schedules, and progress reports
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment

Environmental Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental engineering, preferably in a consulting or engineering firm
  • Strong knowledge of environmental engineering principles, regulations, and standards
  • Proficient in conducting environmental assessments, impact studies, and risk assessments
  • Experience in designing and implementing environmental control systems and remediation projects
  • Solid understanding of wastewater treatment, air pollution control, and waste management systems
  • Familiarity with environmental modeling software and data analysis tools
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
  • Occupational Health and Safety training and certifications
