The Associate/Associate Civil/Traffic Engineer is responsible to perform professional engineering work in the investigation, planning, design, construction, and maintenance and operations of a variety of public works facilities, systems, and projects as well as residential, commercial, industrial, and multi-family building and development projects.
 
The City of Modesto has Associate and Associate Civil/Traffic Engineer positions open in our Engineering, Utilities and Public Works Departments. The eligible list established by this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies in any of the following areas within the City of Modesto: Land Development Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Design, Water Engineering Design, Wastewater Engineering Design, Construction Administration, Water Resources Engineering and Traffic Engineering.Applicants will be assessed on the application submitted. Experience and Training Guidelines:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Associate Engineer
Experience:  
Four years of increasingly responsible experience equivalent to Assistant Engineer with the City of Modesto.  
 
Training:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.  
 
License or Certificate:  
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license.
 
Possession of a valid EIT certificate issued by the State of California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. 
 
Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a professional civil or traffic engineer in the State of California.
