Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Technical Engineer to serve as the Design-Build Site Technical Engineer for the I-405/SR 167 Program. This position reports directly to the Project Engineer. The top candidate will lead and manage an engineering field office of approximately 15-20 WSDOT/GEC engineers and technicians responsible for the delivery of assigned design and construction projects, which requires close coordination and cooperation with region staff and support groups, HQ, and project stakeholders to accomplish organizational goals and expectations. The incumbent will use knowledge of technical engineering practices and departmental procedures and standards to ensure the projects meet local, State, and Federal standards within the scope, schedule, safety, and budget. The position supports the department’s mission by ensuring highway construction projects are built in compliance with the contract documents and documented accurately in a timely manner.
