Job Description:

  • Determine, implement and monitoring engineering strategies, policies and plans.
  • Providing advice on engineering methods and procedures.
  • Establish project schedules and budgets.
  • Ensuring conformity with laws, regulations and safety standards.
  • Ensuring standards of quality, cost, safety, timeliness and performance are achieved.
  • Overseeing maintenance requirements to optimise efficiency.
  • Assist in projects as they arrive using technical expertise.
  • Ensure daily swimming pool readings are taken and pool is dosed with chemicals as instructed by the pool installer.
  • Ensure daily plant rounds are completed ensuring all systems are functioning correctly and note for repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty.
  • Sign off any relevant section of the Warrant of Fitness Manual after tests and checks have been completed.
  • Complete all job requests in a timely manner with guest requests taking priority.
  • Update all equipment data records noting defects, down time, parts and labour on completion of work on equipment.
  • Ensure down areas of the hotel are brought back into service as soon as possible, liaising with other departments when necessary.
  • Liaise with contractors when working on site.
  • Ordering required equipment and obtaining the best costs.
  • Co-ordinate day to day duties of the department.
  • Suggest and drive any improvements that can be made on systems, procedures, plant and equipment.
  • Assist in the keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Completes allocated tasks assignments.
  • Daily Record keeping.
  • On the job training, and quality control.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the department.
  • Complete Cordis Life Safety System maintenance.
  • Complete Cordis Preventative Maintenance System.
  • Review processes used within the department to improve where possible.
  • Follow and implements new processes.
  • Order equipment and supplies.
  • To participate in rotating shift work as required.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship.
  • Adherence to Emergency Communication procedures ensuring that enquiries from the media are only responded to by the nominated spokesperson.
  • Ensure all hotel standards are met and / or exceeded.
