Job Description:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? UDRI invites qualified candidates to apply for our Associate Computer Engineer opening within our Applied Sensing division!

This position will be responsible for working, as part of a diverse and skilled technical team, to write and test software in high-level languages, and to develop and test signal processing algorithms from concept to implementation. This position requires a bachelor’s degree and no professional experience. Candidates, among other considerations with more preferred qualifications will likely be more successful in obtaining this position.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant engineering degree.
2. At least 1 year of relative professional experience.
3. Experience implementing algorithms in C++
4. Experience working in Linux environments.
5. Experience utilizing source code version control.
6. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
7. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position
8. Due to the nature of this position, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Familiarity implementing algorithms on FPGAs via Simulink, DSP Builder, or HDL Coder.
2. Professional experience developing firmware/software to communicate and exchange information (e.g. commands, status, data) with hardware devices, sensors, and/or systems.
3. Familiarity with operating system concepts such as physical memory, virtual memory, Transition Lookaside Buffer, or similar.
4. Familiarity with hardware concepts such as memory mapped access, Direct Memory Access(DMA), or similar.
5. Familiarity with multi-threading.
6. Professional Experience working in algorithm level languages such as MATLAB and Simulink.
7. Professional experience with build systems such as Cmake, Meson, Ninja, Make or similar.
8. Professional experience developing software for embedded systems.
9. Professional experience utilizing Git source code version control.
10. Professional experience with software development practices such as Agile, Scrum, or similar.
11. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills.
12. Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance.
