Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Geodetic Specialist - Transportation Engineer 4 to support the Head Quarters (HQ) Survey & Mapping Manager in coordinating the Survey & Mapping program and overseeing the WSDOT Primary Reference Network, Geodetic\LiDAR surveying, and mapping. This position is crucial in establishing the geographic framework for statewide datum reference, supporting WSDOT project delivery. Responsibilities include managing the Survey & Mapping program, coordinating projects and budgets, aligning customer needs, and providing specialized training. The Geodetic Specialist serves as a statewide expert in geodetic control surveying, representing the Department and collaborating with various agencies. This position exercises survey and engineering judgment, provides guidance on geographic frameworks, and is proficient in GPS and geodetic mapping techniques.
