WIN Energy REMC, a progressive electric distribution cooperative with headquarters located in Vincennes, IN, has an opening for a Director of Engineering in the Vincennes, IN office. WIN Energy REMC serves over 17,000 meters across approximately 2,650 miles of line in eight southern Indiana counties with the mission to “Provide safe reliable electric service at the best value to our member-consumers while supporting the communities we serve”. The cooperative has 48 employees in three office locations with satellite offices in Princeton, IN and Sullivan, IN. WIN Energy REMC is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative and purchases its wholesale power supply from Hoosier Energy, REC, Inc.

As a part of the cooperative’s senior management team, this position directs the cooperative’s distribution system engineering functions in a manner to assure the modern design of our electric distribution facilities. The qualified candidate will guide a planned inspection and maintenance program that improves reliability of service and minimizes investment and maintenance expenditures. The Director of Engineering works with and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Qualified candidates are required to possess a B.S. in electrical engineering. Must have a valid drivers’ license and a current Professional Engineering (PE) license recognized in Indiana or be able to obtain one in a reasonable amount of time. Applicant must have knowledge of electrical distribution system operations, substation and transmission systems. Applicant must have an understanding of Rural Utility System (RUS) specifications, National Electric Safety Code, OSHA regulations and other applicable codes and regulations; the ability to make sound, timely decisions and possess significant verbal and written communication skills; and proficient computer skills related to the job.   

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an electric distribution utility, preferable a cooperative, either by progress through the ranks of engineering or in a middle management level position.
