Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking to fill two Transportation Engineer 2 vacancies located in the Lacey Project Engineer Office (PEO).  One Materials Documentation Engineer, and one Quality Verification (QV) Inspector.  In these roles, you will ensure highway construction projects are designed and built-in compliance with standard specifications, contract specifications and contract plans. As the Materials Documentation Engineer, you are responsible for making sure that all required materials documentation is received from the Contractor and complies with the plans and specifications of each contract. This position will also assist with contract compliance, change order and submittal processing for contracts. As the QV Inspector, you will provide support to the construction team by identifying constructability issues and evaluating to provide recommendations. This may include evaluating and using CADD/design software to design geometric and safety elements; evaluating and designing drainage elements and other roadway elements; documenting design decisions, preparing reports, developing intersection/channelization plans, roadway sections or other plan details. The work of these positions improves the safety, quality, and capacity of the State’s transportation system.
