Job Title: Project Manager

Job Summary: The Project manager will assist in the organization and supervision of the engineering team, provide direction and technical supervision, and participate in all aspects of the project from concept, design, installation, and start-up.

Job Duties:
  • Maintain positive client relationships.
  • Responsible for coordination among disciplines and conformance to corporate standards for design documents (e.g., calculations, drawing, and specification production)
  • Directs and is accountable for criteria acquisition from clients, distribution to the AE team, and communicating appropriate responses following review.
  • Outgoing with a strong desire to develop client relationships and interface with clients as part of project execution.
  • Communicates with the project manager/project director on financial status as appropriate.
  • Coordinates staff allocation to projects with other design project managers and AE business unit leader.
  • Supervises personnel assigned to the project.
  • Maintain all project communications through regular review meetings.
  • Ensures all contractual design requirements are satisfied.
  • Provides leadership in project teaming and integration of design and construction staff.
  • Negotiates issue resolutions among design disciplines and between design and construction.
  • Administrative duties as assigned including performance reviews and career development.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Comply with Company’s Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
  • Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office.  Exposure to harsh conditions—such as:  dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods of time is possible.  All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.   While performing the duties of this position, the employee will/ is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.  The ability to lift and carry 10 lbs. on a regular basis is required. 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in design/engineering
  • Working knowledge of one or two highly related design disciplines (e.g., mechanical & electrical) and the ability to manage and coordinate all design activities thereof.
  • Significant knowledge of design codes and design standards is required.
  • Familiarity in managing the design of BIM-based design projects.
  • SCRUM experience is preferred.
  • Lean Design and Construction experience is preferred.
  • Ability to apply engineering handbooks and manuals.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong familiarity with REVIT (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
