Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Water Resource Engineer to join their team. As a Water Resource Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and management of water-related projects. You will work on a wide range of water resource engineering projects, including floodplain management, stormwater management, water supply systems, and watershed management. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of experience in consulting or design, a P.Eng or P.Geo certification, and a strong background in water resource engineering principles and practices.

Responsibilities:

Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support water resource engineering projects, including floodplain modeling, stormwater management, and water supply assessments
Design and analyze water infrastructure systems, such as drainage systems, stormwater ponds, and water treatment facilities
Develop and implement strategies for sustainable water resource management, considering factors such as water quality, conservation, and environmental impact
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, geotechnical engineers, and landscape architects, to integrate water resource considerations into project designs
Prepare technical reports, engineering drawings, and specifications for water resource projects
Conduct field investigations and data collection, including stream gauging, water quality sampling, and site inspections
Perform engineering calculations and modeling using industry-standard software and tools
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and standards in water resource engineering
Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to design specifications
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff
Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in water resource engineering
Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field
5 to 10 years of experience in water resource engineering, preferably in a consulting or design role
P.Eng or P.Geo certification is required
Strong knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SWMM
Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and other relevant engineering software
Experience with water resource planning, floodplain management, stormwater management, and water supply systems
Solid understanding of water resource regulations, codes, and standards
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative and practical solutions
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to clients, stakeholders, and team members
Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate and precise engineering designs and reports
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as required
