Job Description:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? We are seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer with a background in communication systems to join our team and lead the development of cutting edge systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ARM microcontrollers and C++ programming, with optional experience in Java and software-defined radios. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining software for our embedded radar systems products.

Responsibilities:

-Design and implement software for ARM-based embedded radar systems
-Develop and maintain C++ code for embedded radar systems applications
-Work with Java programming for embedded systems
-Work with software-defined radio systems
-Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure proper integration of software and hardware
-Write and maintain documentation for software and hardware systems
-Troubleshoot and debug software and hardware issues
-Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
-Lead teams of junior developers


Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
-15 years of experience with ARM microcontrollers and C++ programming
-15 years of experience with embedded systems development and debugging
-15 years of experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and device drivers
-Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
-Effective written and verbal communication skills
-Effective teamwork skills
-US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

-Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
-Experience with Java programming for embedded systems
-Experience with software-defined radar systems
-Experience with flight simulators, terrain databases, or flight projections in C and assembler
-Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
