What You Will Do:
We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join IDD Aerospace engineering team, a division within Safran Electronics and Defense Avionics, USA. This individual will be responsible for the conceptualization, architecture, design, and development of modern civil and military avionic systems, subsystems, and LRUs.

The selected person will be a dynamic, self-motivated employee who can quickly become a significant, individual contributor in a multi-disciplined development team. The successful candidate will also be responsible for design activities characterized by fast-paced, creative, and solid development of high-performance avionics and defense products.

Responsibilities:
  • Capture, develop, and maintain the system and subsystem-level feature/functional requirements from the customer
  • Develop product system and sub-system architecture
  • Creation and coordination of the creation of DO-254 needed artifacts
  • Technical leader and primary point of contact for DO-254 SOI Audits
  • Produce and maintain project data, planning, requirements, design, validation, verification, and certification data
  • Lead and participate in peer review of documents and maintain records of review/action item status
  • Create and strive for continuous process improvements for system engineering
  • Maintain configuration management of requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international industry airworthiness requirements and new product certification initiatives
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above

Qualifications:
  • Proven system and electrical engineering experience in full life cycle design or military and civil avionics, systems, and avionics components
  • Understanding of electrical and avionics systems architecture with emphasis on aircraft installations and operations, human factors design, aircraft digital data buses and protocols, analog and digital system interfaces, and modern aircraft system architecture
  • Experience in the development of Requirements Documents, Design Descriptions and or System Verification Cases and Procedures
  • Deep working knowledge of industry airworthiness standards and regulations including but not limited to FAR’s and Regulatory Guidance, assurance standards, and methods: ARP 4754a. RTCA/DO-254 and RTCA/DO-178 experience are a plus.
  • Certification experience in industry processes STC, TC, and TSO a plus
  • Experience in requirements management
  • Ability to self-direct and self-motivate, work in a multidisciplinary team with only general directions and prioritize work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Experience in Model-Based Design a plus
  • Excellent communication skills

What You Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other aerospace Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of seven years of experience
  • You must be a US Person
