Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Bridge Design office is currently seeking to fill two Bridge Engineer 4 (In-Training) positions in Tumwater, WA. These positions provide design and construction support for transportation structures. Bridge and Structures Office provides a full range of structural engineering services required to provide safe, economical, and reliable structures for Washington's transportation system, currently comprising nearly 3,100 existing vehicular bridges with approximately 18 new bridges being added annually. The Bridge Engineer 4 (BE4) positions represent the culmination of engineering experience and on-the-job training in bridge design. The successful BE4's will have acquired a Professional Engineer's License and solid work experience, enabling them to handle a majority of the structural challenges that the Bridge Design Office is responsible for. BE4's are relied upon for their versatility, their up to-date design and code knowledge, and their superior work production rates. The BE4 may act as a Bridge Office representative for development and construction of Design-Build projects. All work is performed under the supervision of a Washington State Structural Engineer.
