Our client is a consulting firm located in the Greater Toronto Area and they are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. The Mechanical Engineer must have previous building consulting experience with heavy industrial project experience. They will collaborate with other professional disciplines and coordinate the design through all phases of the project using their knowledge of building engineering systems, building materials, building codes, and construction technologies. Responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineer:
  • Prepare engineering documents for the design of works for projects in the following sectors: industrial, mining and metals, energy, oil and gas, environment, and sustainable development.
  • Lead and participate in conceptual design studies.
  • Lead and participate in the preparation of plans and specifications and perform detailed engineering based on guidelines for mandates involving heavy machinery, conveyors, pump systems, crushers, and metallurgical processes.
  • Supervise or carry out design calculations and ensure that plans meet guidelines as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify and produce specifications, reports, files for tenders, and other technical documents.
 
Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer:
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Member of the PEO.
  • Minimum 7 years, upper limit is 12 years.
  • Experience in mining and/or heavy industrial a MUST.
  • Equipment sizing (fans, pumps, ducting, piping, crushers, screens).
