The Maintenance Manager will produce and implement maintenance schedules for the engineering department equipment and container delivery, ensuring that all work is carried out to the Company’s standards to meet Production, Quality and Budgetary requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To fully implement maintenance schedules to ensure that all plant is fully maintained in optimum condition to ensure that company downtime reduction, plant reliability and OEE improvement are delivered on all lines.
  2. To maintain and implement a planned maintenance system on all equipment with appropriate budgetary control.
  3. Create a flexible maintenance plan, capable of adapting to changing production needs.  Monitor and modify this plan as required.
  4. Allocate maintenance work to engineering specialists and ensure feedback from them.
  5. Identify training needs of direct reports and prepare plans to meet these needs.
  6. Ensure correct spare parts stocking, necessary to ensure the operation of lines delivery equipment whilst keeping stock to a minimum.
  7. Responsible for the implementation of all new Health & Safety legislation and ensuring adequate staff training on these matters.
  8. Participate and contribute to Continuous Improvement (Professional Maintenance) and Zero Loss Activity.
  9. Drive energy and care and maintenance cost reduction within the PET Lines.
  10. Maintain effective relationships with manufacturing plant suppliers, OEM’s.
  11. Develop in-conjunction with the OEM weekly maintenance and inspection schedules and an annual planned maintenance (APM) programme.
  12. All employees should carry out their duties in a responsible manner giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, which are part of the Integrated management System.
  13. Contribute to the health & safety of self and others by applying health and safety principles to the required standards whilst undertaking designated tasks.
  14. These are the key daily tasks, not a comprehensive list of all tasks undertaken by the job holder.  Flexibility is required by the business & this will be agreed with the individual’s line manager.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Knowledge of Lean/CI tools and techniques is essential
  2. Operational management experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment is preferred
  3. Management/Supervisory experience is essential
