The WI Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is seeking an interested and qualified individual to fill a Signing and Marking Coordinator (Transportation Specialist Entry or Senior) vacancy in the North Central Region!

This full-time position can be headquartered in Rhinelander or Wisconsin Rapids.
 

Position Summary

At the entry level, this position assists with the region’s signing and pavement marking needs by helping to determine which markings need to be replaced. This position assists with the North Central Region (NCR) epoxy Let pavement marking contracts and the county waterborne signing and paint contracts. This position also assists with database entry and reporting of the region’s pavement marking and signing database. This position will perform field reviews of signing and marking and monitor Traffic Maintenance Agreements.

At the senior level, this position prioritizes the region’s pavement marking needs and assists with determining the most effective use of the region’s pavement marking budget. In addition, this position is responsible for the oversite of both the North Central Region (NCR) epoxy Let pavement marking contracts and the county waterborne signing and paint contracts. This position also maintains the database of the region’s pavement marking and assists with the region’s signing database. This position will perform field reviews of signing and marking, administer Traffic Maintenance Agreements and assure that all appropriate signing and pavement marking standards, policies, and guidelines are applied in improvement projects and county work.

Salary Information

The entry level position is in schedule-range 14-15 with an annual salary of $43,680 - $50,398, plus excellent benefits.

The senior level position is in schedule-range 14-14 with an annual salary of $52,000 - $63,440, plus excellent benefits.

A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates at the entry level must have education OR experience with engineering principles and methods - may include: using engineering software, reviewing plats or surveys, reading and interpreting technical documents, construction inspection, material testing, preparing plans and bid documents, etc.

Qualified candidates at the senior level must have extensive education OR experience with engineering principles and methods.
