Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 4 to fill the Assistant Specialty Services Engineer vacancy located in Tumwater, WA. This position reports to the Specialty Services Engineer (TTE) and is responsible for directing the daily operations of the specialty testing section laboratories ensuring that testing is completed in accordance with American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and WSDOT test procedures. The Assistant Specialty Services Engineer, at the State Materials Laboratory, serves as the physical manager of the laboratories of the Specialty Services section that provide complex materials testing, technical support, and technology development for electrical controller cabinets. Our top candidate will have exceptional leadership and management skills, as this position is the direct supervisor of two permanent Transportation Engineer 3 positions and up to four non-permanent positions as needed.
