Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Traffic Design Alternative Delivery Engineer to provide leadership, direction, support, management, and engineering oversight for the Region’s project development and construction activities for the Progressive Design Build (PDB) and Design Build (DB) projects as they relate to Traffic. This includes safety, operational efficiency, managing demand, traffic analysis, work zone traffic control, signing, intelligent transportation systems, signal and electrical systems, and illumination. The Traffic Design Alternative Delivery Engineer will ensure the Region’s capital program is delivered in conformance with applicable policies and department expectations for customer service, transparency, and accountability. They perform work requiring discretion and independent judgment and are accountable for final results, e.g., scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, stewardship, etc. The Traffic Design Alternative Delivery Engineer makes recommendations on staffing decisions necessary to deliver the program.
