We are looking for a skilled IT Communications Coordinator with an eye for detail … someone who can turn complex and technical information into clear and engaging messaging. Join our team of talented, collaborative IT professionals dedicated to providing systems and services for teaching, learning, research and administration. The UDit Communication Coordinator is part of the IT Operations and Engagement Team, a team that advocates for customer-focused communications and solutions to help the UD community get the most out of technology. The UDit Communication Coordinator supports and develops strategic communications to optimize the user experience and contribute to the overall success of key department and campus technology initiatives. This position is responsible for coordinating copywriting, editing, and design of printed and digital content to communicate complex technical concepts in a way that is engaging and understandable to both technical and non-technical users. The UDit Communication Coordinator fosters and maintains relationships of trust between UDit and campus by providing professional, knowledgeable and approachable service-centered information about UDit products and services.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communication, Marketing or related field OR 4+ years equivalent professional experience / training

Proven ability to write and communicate business content effectively in a variety of mediums (web, press release, newsletter, brochures, presentations, etc.) and in ways appropriate to targeted audiences

Effective experience writing and editing for accuracy, correctness and style

Effective written, verbal, interpersonal, active listening and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly, succinctly and effectively with a variety of audiences, including customers, leadership, and staff members

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively to collect, organize, document, and manage content


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communication, Marketing or related field AND 4+ years equivalent professional experience / training

Master’s Degree in English, Communication, Marketing or related field

Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning and the ability to meet technical and stylistic requirements various communication channels

Demonstrated ability to create, develop and implement comprehensive long and short-term strategic communications plans

Experience in a higher education environment

Experience in technical writing

Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
