The Distinguished Data and Systems Architect will contribute to UDRI Digital Transformation strategic plan development and implementation in the areas of computer systems, software, data, and related architectures to support client digital transformation activities and initiatives. This role will also consult, advise, and lead technical teams supporting client digital transformation activities and initiatives, providing direct technical support as required, and will consult and advise clients with multiple stakeholders regarding digital systems, data, toolsets, and related architecture design, implementation, and lifecycle management. Training, mentoring, and developing student and junior engineering team members will also be a key aspect of this role.


Minimum Qualifications
• BS in Computer or Data Science or related field
• 20 years’ experience in computer, data science, and systems engineering
• 10 years’ system architecture experience
• 7 years’ system integration experience
• 5 years’ information management experience
• 5 years’ leadership of technical teams planning, implementing, validating, and refining organizational and enterprise solutions
• 3 years’ experience in Air Force/Department of Defense digital transformation experience in data systems and data architectures
• 3 years’ experience with cloud-based architectures and toolsets
• Development of tools to improve collaboration, reduce workload, establish authoritative sources of truth, and streamline workflows for increased efficiency and effectiveness and reduced cycle times
• 2 years’ experience in technical strategic planning
• Experience with Zero Trust strategy and implementation
• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework and DevSecOps tools implementation
• Experience training and mentoring junior team members
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Stakeholder management
• United States citizenship is required for this position
• Active Secret (or higher) security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• MS in Computer or Data Science or related field
• Over 25 years’ experience in computer and data science and systems engineering
• Any of the following professional certifications
o Professional Engineer (PE)
o Project Management Professional (PMP)
o Systems Engineering
o Agile Scrum Master
• Experience in any of the following functions or roles
o Project and program management
o Systems lifecycle management
o Financial management
• Operational military technical experience and leadership experience
• Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
