Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in San Francisco California who will focus on the mechanical development and testing of new products in the Mobile line, which includes mobile phone cases and mounting solutions. This is an exciting and newer line of products that came from a significant R&D investment from the design team over several years. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will own the mechanical development of new and existing products on this fast-paced and ever-changing roadmap.
 

The ideal Mechanical Design Engineer must have strong technical skills and experience owning mechanical parts and assemblies from prototyping to mass production for high-volume products. Proficiency in creating and maintaining complex 3D models in major CAD systems is essential. A strong inclination towards hands-on prototyping and mechanical aptitude is preferred, along with familiarity with manufacturing processes, surface finishes, and materials properties.
 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or comparable degree or experience
• 3+ years of post-graduate work experience doing mechanical design
• Willing and eager to travel to China and other parts of Asia 1-3 times per year
• Ability to focus and thrive in a distracting, highly social office environment
• Familiarity with phase-gates manufacturing system (Proto, EVT, DVT, PVT, Mass Production)
• Understanding of basic materials properties: aluminum alloys, steels, rubbers, plastics
• Knowledge of various surface finishes: anodization, powder coating, painting, plating
• Local to the San Francisco Bay Area and excited to work from our office/workshop 2-3 days per week

This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers a competitive salary and great benefits!
