Title: Engineering Manager

Reports To: General Manager

A dynamic and growing company is seeking to hire a manufacturing Engineer Manager, located in Springfield, Ohio. Engineering Manager must use their industry knowledge to oversee a variety of activities.

They may coordinate and direct activities related to maintenance, testing, quality assurance, operations and production at manufacturing site. Engineering Manager will also oversee engineering staff, make determinations for training needs, and check their team’s work for technical accuracy. Candidate must be a flexible, results oriented problem-solver. Projects generally vary from one to the next, therefore our engineers must thrive on variety and enjoy taking on new challenges. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design new and modify existing core & molding machines, supporting equipment, and optimize plant layouts
  • Create detail drawings for fabrication, work with vendors and shop for creation of parts and sub- assemblies, create and manage bills of material
  • Participates in specification, drawing review, mechanical build, factory run-off, and field commissioning
  • Works with customers to support machinery and installation needs
  • Work with others in the Engineering Department to facilitate accurate work and timely responses to project needs and customer support
  • Proposing project and program budgets
  • Hiring and supervising staff
  • Ensuring the validity of methods used by staff
  • Coordinating work with other managers and staff
  • Design, test, and engineer foundry machinery, industrial processing equipment, foundry bottom boards, pattern plates, pneumatic sand conveyors, batch mixers, sand mixers, dryers & processing equipment, and cooling\classification equipment for rail sand and foundry industry
  • Direct handling and engineering of consumables and wool

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology
  • 5+ years in a leadership role in manufacturing or machining industry
  • 10+ years in a Manufacturing Engineer role or equivalent
  • Background in foundry machinery, industrial processing equipment, sand conveyors, mixers, and dryers
  • Experience with full circle production of raw steel to finished product
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCad or Solidworks, Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Authorized to work in the US and pass a background check
  • Must be able to: sit and/or stand/walk for extended periods of time; navigate stairs and congested workspaces several times daily; bend, kneel, & reach overhead
