ARQUIMEA Research Center (ARC), part of ARQUIMEA, was born in 2019 with the aim of inventing the technologies of tomorrow. We focus on Deep Tech solutions with a very high impact on the markets and/or future global challenges. We rely on a product-oriented strategy, market diversification and internationalization to achieve a sustainable growth with the aim of creating the technology of tomorrow. Our projects arise from the convergence of exponential technologies or Deep Tech: Nanotechnology and Materials, Sensors, Drones & Robotics, Biotechnology & Genetics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Technologies, Networks & Security, Digital Manufacturing.
We are looking for a Research Engineer with knowledge in the field of implementing cryptography. The successful candidate will have knowledge of digital design and embedded systems applied to cryptography implementations, Side-Channel Attacks and Fault Analyses.
Tasks to be performed:
- Working in a multidisciplinary team, researching and developing cryptography implementations mainly focused on post-quantum cryptography.
- Designing and developing architectural descriptions and digital implementations of cryptographic algorithms.
- Researching practical vulnerabilities of the implementation: Side-Channel and fault attacks
- Proposing countermeasures to include in the design of cryptography implementations.
- Participate in tasks related to new projects proposals, including planning, task estimation, design, design verification, peer review and writing, as part of a team.
- Plan and execute tasks in collaboration with the team to ensure project objectives are met.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:
- PhD or MSc. degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics with at least 5 years of experience working in cryptography implementations.
- Experience in implementation of cryptographic hardware IPs (VHDL).
- Experience in side-channel security testing.
- Open minded and ready to be challenged with multi-disciplinary R&D projects. We are looking for someone who thrives working in multidisciplinary and ever-changing environments.
- The candidate must be eligible to work in the EU.
- Posibility of working 100% remotely.
Additionally, we will also value experience in the following areas:
- Knowledge on post-quantum cryptographic algorithms (key exchange mechanisms and digital signature).
- Experience in Common Criteria (or similar) certification process.
- Co-design embedded systems: microcontroller (firmware, mainly C, C++), FPGAs.
- Knowledge about secure boot and root of trust.
- Research skills.
