ARQUIMEA Research Center (ARC), part of ARQUIMEA, was born in 2019 with the aim of inventing the technologies of tomorrow. We focus on Deep Tech solutions with a very high impact on the markets and/or future global challenges. ARC is looking to hire a Senior Materials Engineer, to be based in our quarters in San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Tenerife, Spain). The profile we are looking for should have the following traits:

• MSc or PhD in Materials Science/Engineering or neighboring areas.
• Strong hands-on experience with fabrication methods of piezoelectric materials (ceramics and/or polymers).
• In-depth expertise of characterization processes of piezoelectric materials in terms of their chemical and electromechanical features.
• Also desirable:
  • Knowledge of the state-of-the-art piezoelectric materials for ultrasonic applications.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies.

The job in question involves active and continuous interaction with an interdisciplinary research team, which encompasses skills ranging from mechanical engineering to theoretical and experimental physics.  The successful candidate is expected to participate in frequent agile meetings with the team for planning both short and medium-term goals.  Applicants with an open mind to new challenges and the ability to interact with people from different areas of R&D are especially welcome to apply.
