Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a skilled Transportation Planning Technician 3 to support WSDOT’s mission to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation options to improve communities and economic vitality for people and businesses by collecting, analyzing, and assimilating roadway data, and maintaining and updating the data inventory. Roadway data includes traffic counts, speed data, special gap studies, traffic queue, time delay studies, or other counts involving high speed, high volume, and complex traffic patterns at intersections or interchanges. The work of this position will contribute to enhancing safety, quality, and resiliency of the State’s transportation system. As a Transportation Planning Technician 3 in the Olympic Region Traffic Office, the incumbent performs roadway and signal data analysis, maintains roadway inventory database, and collaborates with other groups such as the Signal Operations team, using collected and available third party data, to provide Traffic Operations deliverables.
