Job Description:

The Thermal Analyst will support the Mechanical Engineering Department on system level thermal analysis. The Thermal Analyst will execute work to meet Mechanical Engineering Department project milestones and performance objectives (cost, scope, and schedule).

 

Major Responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in reviewing and performing engineering calculations, simulations, and engineering documentation
  • Present design solutions to stakeholders and convene design reviews to obtain stakeholder feedback and endorsement
  • Produce and document effective design solutions by performing engineering calculations and offering alternate solution paths
  • Perform calculations and analysis of complex data and provide engineering support for fabrication, assembly, and commissioning of technical equipment
  • Able to make presentation graphics of design and communicate what is needed to advance the design and start construction

Required Degree

Doctorate -Engineering or Physics

 

Minimum Requirements

  • An advanced degree in Engineering or Physics
  • Course work related to fabrication techniques, cryogenic systems, electronics, mechanical and electronic drafting and computer systems
  • Requires experience in the use of CAD and/or related engineering systems, including file transfer; experience in the use of exotic metals, including knowledge of their properties, in the fabrication and assembly of sophisticated research equipment, industry to produce and check scientific research equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
