Lead Plant Engineer Position Summary

Assists the Engineering & Plant Operations Manager by leading the daily operations, maintenance and inspections of the engineering plants to include but not limited to all boilers, chillers, medical air equipment, utilities, fire main, alarm systems, BAS, elevators, medical gases, emergency generators and fuel systems. Assists with obtaining and managing contracts for services. Assists in developing and managing Capital and O & M Budget. Interface with vendors and contractors. Maintains energy systems, procedures, and measures including system analysis and reporting. Supports the Engineering & Plant Operations Manager and performs other duties as required. Delivers exceptional quality and service to all patients and other customers. Lead Plant Engineer Position Requirements

Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent, with technical trade and supervisory and management courses preferred.
  • Industry courses in flame safeguard, code compliance, energy systems and mechanical equipment desirable.
  • May be required to be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
  • May be required to complete management classes.

Experience

  • Five years experience required in a large physical plant working with boiler, chillers, generators and ancillary equipment.
  • Comparable experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • State of Maryland first grade engineer’s license required.
  • Demonstrated experience with energy management systems and energy reduction measures required.
