Job Description:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? UDRI invites qualified candidates to apply for our Staff Computer Engineer opening within our Applied Sensing division!

This position will be responsible for working, as part of a diverse and skilled technical team, to write test and document software in system-level languages such as C/C++, and to develop High-Performance scheduling and data transport methodologies from concept to implementation using industry standard interfaces. This position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of professional experience and may be expected to perform tasks at a higher level of independence when compared to an entry level position. Candidates, among other considerations with more preferred qualifications will likely be more successful in obtaining this position.

Minimum Qualifications
1) Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
2) Familiarity with modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and software compilers such as Netbeans, Visual Studio, VSCode, g++, or similar
3) Three years of professional experience developing software using C or C++
4) Due to the nature of this position, U.S. citizenship is required
5) Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1) Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
2) Familiarity with Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) and/or RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE)
3) Familiarity (academic or professional) developing software using Matlab
4) Familiarity with build systems such as Cmake, Meson, Ninja, or similar.
5) Experience utilizing source code version control such as git.
6) Familiarity with scheduling theory and/or arbitration
7) Familiarity with Web Sockets
8) Experience with Linux and Linux networking
9) Familiarity with RADAR concepts
10) Familiarity with multi-threading and/or concurrent programming
11) Professional experience with software development practices such as Agile, Scrum, or similar.
12) Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
13) Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
