Off-Shore Wind Environmental Team Lead / Sr. Project Manager

POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients. POWER is a rapidly growing company with a clear vision of how we want to grow.
We are seeking a highly motivated Off-Shore Wind Team Lead and Senior Project Manager with proven experience in offshore wind for full-time employment in support of our Northeast Environmental Project Management and Planning team.
This position will be located in either our Freeport, ME, Foxborough, MA, or Richmond VA office with an option to work remotely.

Roles and Responsibilities
The primary focus for the Team Lead /Senior Project Manager will be on offshore wind renewable energy development projects in the Eastern U.S., California coast, and the Gulf of Mexico. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and responsive professional, with strong communication and organizational skills. A proven history in business development, leadership, and supervisory experience is required.
As a member of the POWER Environmental senior project management team, this position is expected to help with recruiting staff, acquisition target identification, partnering relationships, and contribute to the strategic plan and direction of the Division.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
  • Market new and existing clients with internal members of the organization and establish initial engagements.
  • Help to expand engagements to develop clientele and win work. Lead proposal preparation for larger projects.
  • Participate in and contribute to annual strategic business planning and department plan efforts
  • Managing multiple projects at various stages and locations Leading project teams for key clients
  • Developing strategy for permitting offshore wind projects including BOEM COP, SAP, and NEPA
  • Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, resource specialists, attorneys, planners, permitting and real estate experts
  • Managing and directing environmental impact studies, oceanographic surveys, analyses, and associated reports
  • Preparing and monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget; responsible for financial performance of projects
  • Up to 25% of travel is expected
Required Education/Experience
  • B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Oceanography, Marine Ecology, or related degree
  • Minimum Ten (10) + years of successful experience managing environmental impact studies and permitting for a variety of energy-related projects Experience working in coastal, estuarine and deep-sea habitats
  • Expertise in environmental planning and analysis, federal, state, and local permitting Experience in offshore wind projects on the East coast U.S.
  • Experience preparing NEPA documentation and BOEM COP and possibly a BOEM SAP
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulation are required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Oceanography, Marine Ecology, or related degree
  • Project Management Professional certification; other professional certifications as applicable to technical expertise
